Most manufacturers know their revenue to the shilling and their cost per unit to the nearest guess. Raw material prices move, yields vary between shifts, and wastage lives in somebody's notebook. A properly set-up ERP tracks material from the supplier's truck to the customer's invoice, so the cost is measured rather than estimated.

Every product defined by what goes into it and which operations it passes through, with versions, so a recipe change does not rewrite the cost of last month's batches.

Production planning

Sales orders and stock levels turned into a production plan and the material it needs, with purchase requests raised for whatever is short.

Batches and traceability

Raw material lots traced into finished-goods batches with dates and expiry, so a quality complaint can be traced back to the supplier delivery it came from.

Yield and wastage

Expected against actual output recorded on every work order, with by-products and scrap valued, so losses show up in the month they happen.

Cost per unit you can trust

Material, labour and overheads rolled into the actual cost of each batch, compared against the standard, and feeding margin reports by product and customer.

Shop-floor entry that gets used

Simple screens or tablet forms for the people recording production, because a system the floor will not use produces numbers nobody trusts.

What happens, step by step

An implementation is not finished when the screens work. It is finished when your opening balances, stock and customer ledgers agree with the books you are leaving, your invoices clear eTIMS, and your team can close a month without calling us.

01 Walk the floor We follow material from receiving to dispatch and write down how it is actually recorded today, including the parts that live on paper.
02 Model the products Bills of materials, operations and costing rules agreed with production and finance together, and tested against a batch you have already made.
03 Run it alongside A trial period recording real production on ERPNext, with the costs compared against what you believed them to be. The difference is usually the point.

How it is priced

Fixed in writing before any work starts

Each piece is quoted for your business, and the figure does not move once it is agreed. ERPNext has no licence fee per user.

What people ask about manufacturing

We make to order, not to stock. Does ERPNext handle that?
Yes. Production can be driven by individual sales orders, with material reserved and costs tracked against the order, as well as by a stock-based plan.

Can it handle products where the output varies, like milling or processing?
Yes. Variable yields, by-products and grades are recorded per work order, and costs are split across the outputs using rules you agree with your accountant.

Do our machines need to connect to it?
No. Most manufacturers start with production recorded by people on simple screens. Machine or scale integration can come later, where the volume justifies it.

Can we see margin by product and by customer?
Yes. Once actual batch costs flow through to sales invoices, margin can be reported by product, customer, branch or sales person.
